Interview with renowned designer Kinney Chan:

Under the current design trends, in what way should stone be better integrated into people's daily lives? Could you please share it based on the curatorial design and implementation of this exhibition?

Kinney Chan: 

We know the characteristics of stone itself, which are relatively hard and very durable, so they can be passed down for a hundred years or more without damaging its quality. Sometimes, they can also be polished to enhance their waterproof function. So we can see a lot of stone applications in bathrooms, kitchens and other spaces.

Of course, in many cases, it can also be used on the countertops of homes and cabinets, because stone is anti-fouling, easier to clean, etc. When we use stone, we must first understand one of its characteristics, but our current life is also very different from our previous life, so I hope that through the design of the exhibition and everyone's power, more people will be able to activate their interest in stone. The thinking, including the current technology, is also very mature, and we can be more bold in exploring and thinking about the possibilities of stone.

STONELINK is deeply involved in the entire industrial chain from source to portal. From your perspective, in what ways is stone integrated into people's daily lives? How should we integrate better in the future?

Eva Li: 

STONELINK has been deeply involved in the stone industry for many years and has witnessed the wide application and evolution of stone in people's lives. First of all, with the development of technology, the application range of stone is becoming more and more extensive, not only limited to traditional floors, walls, etc., but also involving home decoration, art and other fields. Secondly, with the improvement of people's aesthetics and the pursuit of personalized and tasteful life, the natural texture and diversity of stone can better meet the needs of creating unique and personalized spaces for thousands of people.

In order to better integrate into people's daily lives, the stone industry needs continuous innovation and exploration. In the future, we look forward to seeing the emergence of more stone products with unique performance and aesthetics to meet people's growing needs for a better life. At the same time, with the development of science and technology, stone processing and installation technology will also become more advanced and convenient, allowing stone to better adapt to the application of various spaces and scenes. In addition, strengthening cooperation between the stone industry and the design community is also key. Through cooperation with designers, stone can be better integrated into various design styles, bringing more aesthetic experiences to people's lives.
