Natural stone in bathroom

The decoration of the bathroom can be simple or luxurious, but for large-sized living rooms, the latter is obviously a better decoration design than the former. We, who live in reinforced concrete, spend our days busy. If we can take a good shower at home, it not only releases stress but also benefits our physical health. Creating a bathroom atmosphere through soft furnishings can enhance the artistic ambiance of the bathroom.

With the improvement of people's living standards, laying and placing natural stones such as marble or granite in the bathroom has gradually become a fashion. People generally like to use marble as a decorative countertop for washbasins, while the floors and walls of bathrooms are decorated with high-end natural stone to add a touch of elegance to the bathroom.

However, due to the specific function of bathing in the bathroom, there is a lot of water vapor, and if the stone laid is not properly maintained, it is highly susceptible to pollution. So, once you choose a certain type of stone to decorate your bathroom, you must design a complete maintenance plan in advance to ensure that the stone maintains its natural and beautiful appearance for a long time and extends its service life. The maintenance plan should include cleaning and disinfecting bacteria and mold from the surface of the stone. At the same time, the cleaning agent should not corrode the surface of the stone and prevent the regeneration of mold.

Nowadays, most household cleaning disinfectants contain irritating chemicals such as acids and alkalis that have a significant impact on the surface and color of natural stone. These chemicals can have adverse effects on the mineral composition inside the stone. What is particularly serious is that most cleaning agents must remain on the surface of the stone for at least five minutes to have a cleaning effect, and during this time, the cleaning agents have already started to damage the stone. So experts recommend using a neutral pH cleaning agent to clean the stone surface in the bathroom. Daily use of this cleaning agent can also reduce the production of bacteria and mold spots.

The usual operating procedures for cleaning the stone washbasin, bathroom floor, shower room, and bathroom walls are as follows:

1. The manufacturer's operating instructions are to dilute the cleaning agent in a certain proportion.

2. Spray diluted cleaning solution onto all countertops or walls in the bathroom and let it linger for a certain period of time to allow the cleaning solution to fully penetrate.

3. Wipe off the remaining cleaning solution on the surface with a soft cloth.

To clean the bathroom stone floor, the following steps can be :

1. Thoroughly clean the entire floor.

2. Dilute the cleaning agent in a certain proportion.

3. Use a clean cloth to apply the diluted cleaning agent to the surface of the stone.

4. After cleaning 28 square meters of stone, the cleaning agent diluent should be replaced.

5. After the surface of the stone is dried, wipe the remaining cleaning solution with clean water.

The cleaning process for cement mortar gaps in the bathroom is as follows:

1. First, clean the entire area to be cleaned thoroughly.

2. Dilute a non irritating, non acidic penetrating stone cleaning agent in a certain proportion, and then apply the diluent to the surface of the gap.

3. Leave it for a few minutes so that the cleaning solution can penetrate into the gaps.

4. Use a soft brush to scrub the gaps, and immediately clean the remaining cleaning solution on the surface of the gaps with a soft cloth or wet suction method.

5. Immediately scrub the surface with a neutral stone cleaning agent with a pH value of 7.

In general, cleaning agents should stay on the surface of the stone for at least five minutes to kill the mold on the surface of the stone. Wipe the horizontal or vertical surface of the stone with a soft cloth, ensuring that the surface of the stone is clean. Before large-scale cleaning, a small-scale test should be conducted first.

In addition, all bathroom stones must be surface treated with a suitable penetrant protective agent, which can help reduce adhesion and effectively prevent the growth of bacteria and mold spots. After protection, it is also effective on the surface of cement mortar. Due to the ability of penetrating protective agents to protect indoor stone, experts suggest using polishing agents with penetrating function to protect the surface brightness of the stone after protection.
